About
Life Happens When You’re Busy Making Plans.
That is exactly what was happening to me when I realized I didn’t like it so much.

Hi, I’m Nora Dunn. In 2006, I decided to take the plunge. I sold my financial planning practice in Toronto Canada, and got rid of all of my belongings in order to free myself up for the adventure of a lifetime.
Since early 2007, I’ve been on the road, traveling slowly through over 30 countries and five continents. I have lived a variety of lifestyles by working in trade for my accommodation. My location independent writing career takes care of the rest of the expenses. As such, I can travel in a financially sustainable manner like this for as long as I wish.
And I plan to.
I’ve traveled with a partner. I’ve traveled solo. I’ve had romances on the road, and dealt with ensuing fall-outs (including being very sick).
I’ve taken the train across the vast and magnificent Canada, fallen off the grid in Hawaii, coordinated spontaneous Cyclone relief in Asia, and been dealt all the adrenalin I could handle in New Zealand.
I’ve had many Australian adventures and even some (horrific) bushfire action, and I’ve wandered through Europe. I’ve filmed three different television shows in three different countries.
I’ve done the Ultimate Train Challenge – 30 days and 25,000kms by train from Lisbon to Saigon.
And I’ve volunteered or house-sat in trade for my accommodation in Hawaii, Australia, New Zealand, Spain, England, Grenada, St Martin, and the BVIs. And counting…
I have seen – and been a part of – a lot so far.

And there is so much to come. I update this blog every Monday and Thursday with posts, roundups, and week-in-the-life guest spots. Every Saturday I offer up a Financial Tip of the Week, given my background in financial planning and ability to travel full-time in a financially sustainable way.
