Nora, I’ve been catching up on your posts, and just now watched this video. It made me “homesick”! While I’m an American, I lived in Victoria years ago, and have been back a few times. Had planned to return in Feb 2010, but due to some issues that’s been pushed off ’til later in the year. I’m so glad you posted this video, put a smile on my face — could remember the sounds and smells almost as if I were there again now.

Thanks! You know, I feel strange sometimes about having friends or hospitality exchangers visit from overseas because I’m not near many “touristy” things. But it truly is a little piece of paradise…once you slow down enough to enjoy what it has to offer. And the truth is, the area where we are is where weekenders from Melbourne like to come when they have time off. So I guess I kind of AM on the tourist circuit!

@Emily – I must say now that we’ve had a chance to live rurally (a few times), an urban lifestyle holds very little appeal for us. It’s worth some of the inconveniences of living in the country to have this piece of nature-filled paradise.

Cool! That is our backyard! That is the sort of gig Clare our daughter does. Just had 3 weeks up near Cairns.

Mmm, tried to trick you on the hedghog, was not sure if it had hit your vocab…

No dramas re visit, sometimes it feels like we cater for a bus load normally.

I was doing a few nights along the Great Ocean Walk (between Blanket Bay and the cape lighthouse), as an assistant group leader for a school group from Melbourne. Which also explains why I didn’t stop in for a cuppa….I figured you wouldn’t appreciate my entourage at the time! (smiles)
But with a hedgehog that’s famous no less….you’re upping the ante, mate!
