Roundup: August

By theprofessionalhobo ~ August 28th, 2008. Filed under: Australia, links.

As another month draws to a close, so does my flurry of published articles! Although I’ll have some news to share shortly about some new publishers I am starting to work with, Wise Bread continues to be a mainstay for me.

And it’s all good news: Wise Bread is getting a book deal! Before too long, I hope to have a few words of frugal living and personal finances immortalized in print for all to see!

Here is what happened this month:

    Nora & Kelly,

Hey there! I always read your blog and articles at vagabondish and you guys have insprired me and my boyfriend so much that I wanted to thank both of you for the blog.

We are from Argentina and we are planning to live abroad in Brasil for six months -baby steps, right?-traveling through the country.
We are both freelance programmers so we can manage to work and live somewhere else.

We are planning to take off in a year from now -need to get some things done before then- and I wanted to share the news with you because part of the decision comes inspired from your readings.
Especially because you tell it like it is and dont try to portray an artificial bliss.

Hopefully it will be our first step of a longer journey.

Amazing how these days we are all connected and people that we have never met before can have an impact on your life, huh?

Well, I thought you might wanted to learn that someone out there not only reads you but also felt encouraged by your writing to make changes in their life!

A hug to both of you!

    Hi Clauz,
Unbelievable. Thank you so much for the attribution and incredible news! You are courageous, and you both will have so much fun! Six months is also a great time frame to start with to settle into the lifestyle – if you indeed decide it’s for you.
Congratulations – and please keep us posted here!
