@Sunny - With a few years under my belt since being in Hawaii, I consistently remember Kehena beach and the overall area as being a very special place with a palpable energy. I hope to return there again sometime, so I can reconcile some of these memories with a new realm of world experience.

I lived in Puna for a time and frequented kehena almost daily. It is my favourite place in the world, and it really made me re-examine those things we prioritize in life. I learned to prioritize play, to live life without expectations, to live in the moment and take things less seriously. I loved the artistic expression that is so much a part of Kehena, and the abundant gratitude for the simple moments in life.

If you liked Kehena Beach in lower Puna, you would like "Little (Makena) Beach" on Maui. Little Makena has about 300-500 clothing op beach goers (w/many visiting NorCal and Europe hippies) on a good Sunday, and when the sun goes down the drum circle and fire dancing starts up. Very fun and a cant miss on Maui. PS. You may also like Ecstatic Dance also in lower Puna on Sundays (2 miles east of Kehena), "Rave in da Cave" on Maui in an old Lava Tube, Earthdance in NorCal (Sept.), and Burning Man in Nev.<br/>Kealoha
